Elegant vintage Maruko Japanese porcelain tea set for six, dating to c.1950–1970 (Showa period).
This luxurious service is richly decorated with peacocks and blooming peonies, framed by deep cobalt blue borders and fine gilded detailing. Inside each cup, a delicate lithophane geisha portrait appears when held to the light – a signature element highly prized by collectors.
The set includes 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 dessert plates, a teapot, sugar bowl and creamer, all crafted from thin, translucent porcelain with superb decorative quality.
