Early 19th Century English Blue Willow Bowl, Antique Transferware, c.1810–1830

€320

Antique English Blue Willow bowl dating to the early 19th century, decorated with the classic Chinese-inspired landscape scene.

This piece features the traditional Willow pattern with pagodas, bridge, birds and trees, printed in deep cobalt blue on a creamy earthenware body. The surface shows beautiful age-related craquelure, consistent with early transferware production.

The bowl retains its original form with natural unevenness typical of hand-finished ceramics of the period. The glaze has aged attractively, giving the piece a warm antique character.

A fine example of early English Blue Willow ware, perfect for collectors of antique ceramics or historic tableware.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
