c.1905–1925 Haida / Steinschönau Enamelled Glass Likör Compote, Bohemia, 10.6in

€520

Antique enamelled glass compote on pedestal produced in the Haida / Steinschönau region of Bohemia, dating to circa 1905–1925.

The piece features clear hand-blown glass with vertical ribbing, decorated with a finely painted fruit garland frieze on a soft blue ground. The decoration is executed in classic Haida style, with expressive black outlining and naturalistic enamel colors.

Such pedestal bowls were commonly used as liqueur, dessert, or centerpiece vessels and remain highly desirable examples of early 20th-century Bohemian decorative glass.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
