c.1890–1910 Pair of French Louis XVI Revival Gilt Bronze Wall Sconces, 16.9in

€1.400

Exceptional pair of French wall sconces in the Louis XVI Revival style, dating from the Belle Époque period, circa 1890–1910.

These elegant sconces are crafted in heavy gilt bronze and feature a classical urn finial adorned with draped garlands, flanked by two scrolling candle arms with fluted candle cups and drip pans.

The vertical backplate is richly molded with neoclassical motifs and terminates in a stylized acanthus finial. The original fire-gilt surface has developed a beautiful warm patina over time, highlighting the sculptural depth and refined French workmanship.

Marked “Made in France” on the castings, confirming their production for export markets in the early 20th century.

The candle sockets have been professionally replaced with modern electrical fittings, making the sconces ready for immediate installation and safe use.

Professional packaging.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
