c.1875–1897 Malicorne PBx Hand-Painted Iris Plate, France, 9.84in

€180

A rare hand-painted faience plate from Malicorne, created by the workshop of Poulard-Béatrix (PBx) between 1875 and 1897. This example features a vibrant floral composition with deep blue irises, framed by a colorful border and set on the classic scalloped edge typical of Malicorne’s late-19th-century production.

The PBx mark on the reverse confirms its attribution to the historic workshop whose production ceased after 1897, making these pieces increasingly scarce on the market.

A beautiful and highly collectible plate, ideal for lovers of French provincial faience.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
