c.1875–1897, Malicorne PBx Breton Hand-Painted Plates, France, 9.84in - Set of 3

€450

Beautiful and rare set of three hand-painted faience plates from Malicorne, decorated in traditional Breton costume style. These pieces were produced by the renowned Poulard-Béatrix workshop and bear the scarce PBx mark, used between 1875 and 1897 before its legal discontinuation.

Each plate features a different figure in regional dress, surrounded by a colorful floral border and finished with a scalloped rim. The hand-painted decoration and natural age craquelure give these plates their unmistakable French provincial charm.

A highly collectible set — PBx pieces rarely appear together, especially in matching formats of this size.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
