Impressive antique Victorian photo album featuring a richly embossed leather cover with architectural and geometric ornamentation.
The front cover displays deep relief tooling in a symmetrical design, framed by fine decorative borders. The album is fitted with solid brass clasps and hinges, all well preserved, and retains its striking gilt page edges, enhancing its luxurious appearance.
Inside, the album contains 15 thick card pages with cut-out windows designed for photographic portraits. Each page holds 4 photographs per side, allowing for up to 8 photographs per page. In total, the album can accommodate approximately 120 photographs.
The pages show a subtle embossed marking reading “ALT”, likely indicating the paper manufacturer or production mark, though exact attribution remains uncertain.
A beautiful example of 19th-century craftsmanship, ideal for collectors, interior styling, or historical display.
