c.1835–1860 “Acropolis” Blue Transferware Plates, Set of 3, England, 9.4in

€300

Beautiful set of three antique blue transferware plates in the “Acropolis” pattern, crafted in England around 1835–1860.

Each plate features a neoclassical landscape with ancient ruins, framed by a rich floral border and a scalloped molded rim. A classic example of early Victorian Staffordshire blue-and-white pottery.

These large display plates present exceptionally well despite minor age-related imperfections.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
