19th Fajalauza Blue White Spanish Glazed Dish

Spanish Fajalauza terracotta dish in traditional blue and white glaze with traditional flower at the center and scalloped design at the border. Fajalauza pottery is from Granada, Spain and originated during the 13-15th centuries when the Nasrid Muslim dynasty ruled the Iberian Peninsula. It is named for the gate of Fajalauza that led to the El Albaicin neighborhood in Granada where the Islamic potters lived during the 16th century.
