19th Century Chinese Famille Rose Export Porcelain Plate, Canton Decor, 7.9”

€230

A finely decorated Chinese export porcelain plate executed in the Famille Rose palette, richly adorned with courtly figures, floral reserves, birds and butterflies within an elaborate scrolling composition.
The surface is divided into alternating figurative and floral cartouches framed by dense green and gilt ornamental decoration characteristic of 19th century Canton enamel work. Delicate scenes with attendants and interior figures are combined with flowering motifs, exotic birds and insects, creating the highly decorative appearance associated with Qing dynasty export porcelain produced for the Western market.
Particularly attractive is the vibrant palette of rose pinks, emerald greens and iron orange tones, contrasted against the bright white porcelain ground. The central medallion with bird decoration further enhances the symmetrical composition and gives the plate strong display presence.
The reverse remains undecorated and shows expected kiln and age-related characteristics consistent with antique Chinese porcelain of the period.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
