19th Century Chinese Famille Rose Canton Porcelain Trio - 9.8 in

€950

This elegant Chinese Famille Rose porcelain trio comprises a cabinet plate, teacup and saucer, all decorated in the richly coloured Canton manner of the nineteenth century. The ensemble displays an elaborate combination of courtly interior scenes, flowering branches, exotic birds and butterflies, framed by dense scrolling ornament highlighted with extensive gilding.
The decoration is executed with remarkable vibrancy, featuring finely painted figures within shaped reserves surrounded by intricate floral borders in shades of emerald green, rose pink and gold. The central medallions depict birds among flowering branches, while the surrounding panels alternate between figural scenes and naturalistic motifs, creating a highly decorative and visually engaging composition.
Produced for the export market during the nineteenth century, Canton enamelled wares became celebrated for their lavish decoration and exceptional craftsmanship. Today, well-preserved examples with such richly ornamented surfaces remain highly sought after by collectors of Chinese export porcelain. Presented together, these three pieces form an attractive and unusual display grouping with strong decorative presence.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
