19th Century, Chinese Export Canton Famille Rose Vase with Gilt Relief, 12in

€690

Large and highly decorative Chinese export porcelain vase, hand-painted in the Canton famille rose tradition, featuring figural scenes, floral medallions, butterflies, and birds.

The vase is distinguished by its complex form and richly applied gilt relief elements in the shape of stylized dragons. Beneath the relief decoration, the body displays a finely molded scalloped pattern, adding depth and sculptural character. The vibrant enamel palette combined with strong gilding reflects the refined craftsmanship of mid-19th-century Chinese export porcelain made for the European market.

A striking interior object, created purely for decorative display, and an excellent example of high-quality Canton enamel work.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
