19th Century, Chinese Cloisonné Bowl with Boys and Floral Motifs

€470

A finely crafted perfume burner in copper alloy with cloisonné enamel decoration. The vessel is adorned with polychrome depictions of playful children amidst flowering foliage, framed by a continuous arabesque pattern on a turquoise ground. The upper rim is decorated with archaistic taotie-style motifs engraved in relief. The bowl is equipped with two stylized openwork handles—both of which appear to have been reattached or glued back, with visible metal losses to the upper tips. This piece exemplifies the vibrant cloisonné artistry produced in China during the late Qing dynasty.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
