19th Century, Antique Manises Plate - Spanish Ceramics

€189

We are pleased to offer this exquisite 19th-century ceramic plate from Manises, a historic town near Valencia renowned for its centuries-old tradition of fine majolica pottery.

This plate features a central floral motif surrounded by abstract and geometric decorations in vivid cobalt blue — a hallmark of traditional Manises ceramics. The wide border displays a richly detailed frieze of scrollwork and stylized foliage, typical of 19th-century Valencian decorative style, framed by concentric hand-painted bands that emphasize the artisanal craftsmanship.

The design reflects the unique fusion of Moorish and Castilian influences, making Manises pottery one of the most collectible and culturally significant ceramic traditions in Spain.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
