Antique XIX century Plate - Manises

Elegant glazed and hand-painted ceramic plate, made in Manises (Valencia). It has a wide and beautiful border on its edges, divided into segments and with paintings of vegetation and stripes. In the center the characteristic bird painted in cream yellow.

Many pieces of this factory are preserved in museums.

The ceramics of Manises, in the Valencian Community (Spain), is represented by the varied factory of this important center of pottery, which from a pottery and earthenware, traditional since the 14th century, has evolved towards the production of various types of pasta ceramics (fine earthenware, majolica, porcelain, stoneware) and varnishes.
