1893-1915 Meissen Neubrandenstein Relief Plates with Hand-Painted Floral Decoration

€490

A refined pair of Meissen porcelain plates featuring the celebrated Neubrandenstein relief border, delicately decorated with hand-painted floral bouquets, scattered blossoms and insects. Executed in the traditional Meissen manner, the decoration displays finely rendered botanical studies in vibrant enamel colours against a luminous white porcelain ground.

The elegant moulded rim is enriched with the characteristic Neubrandenstein basket-weave and lattice relief, highlighted by a subtle gilded edge. Such designs were among the most enduring and desirable decorative services produced by the Meissen manufactory during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Both plates bear the underglaze blue crossed swords mark of the Meissen manufactory, dating them to the period circa 1893-1915.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
