1880–1900, Meissen pierced porcelain plate – floral décor, gold accents

€350

An exquisite pierced porcelain plate from the Meissen manufactory, hand-painted with a central bouquet of tulip, violets, and forget-me-nots, framed by an openwork reticulated rim and gilded rococo cartouches with floral reserves. This piece exemplifies the craftsmanship and decorative finesse that defined Meissen porcelain during the second half of the 19th century.

The underglaze blue crossed swords mark on the reverse confirms its authenticity as a Meissen product. The impressed number 54803 corresponds to patterns used in the later 1800s to early 1900s. The painting style, especially the vibrant coloration and naturalistic flower forms, is consistent with Meissen’s “Deutsche Blume” (German flowers) motif.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
