Early 19th Century French Empire Porcelain Vases, Pair, Hand-Painted Figural Scenes, Cobalt Blue Ground, 11.4”

€750

A refined pair of French porcelain vases dating to the early 19th century, decorated with hand-painted classical figural scenes framed by deep cobalt blue grounds and gilt details.

Each vase features an elegant neoclassical silhouette with decorative handles and painted pastoral compositions depicting women and children in romantic landscape settings. The reverse sides are enriched with symbolic motifs including a classical helmet, ribbons and laurel branches.

The vivid cobalt ground contrasts beautifully with the gilded borders and finely painted reserves, giving the pair a distinctly French Empire decorative character.

The vases retain strong visual presence despite later restorations and remain highly decorative display pieces suitable for both classical and contemporary interiors.

Details:
• Dimensions: Height: 29 cm (11.4 inches); Width: 14.5 cm (5.7 inches)
