Spanish Triana "Lebrillo" Ceramic Plate with a horse drawing - 15.5in

€1.200

Seville potteries of Triana.

Large basin with a flat base, a very open, truncated cone-shaped eaves and a thick rim from the Seville potteries of Triana, where the production of these pieces was very popular, household items that were as useful as they were decorative. The polychrome series of the Monterías is characterized by receiving a thick tin coating on the visible majority of the piece, which is usually not glazed on its external support base. Its decoration is limited to a single central figurative motif and a wide band of geometric designs on its eaves. This basin is decorated with a bull walking on its base in a very stylized landscape, which frames on its eaves a decorative border of a geometric nature in its dark pattern with touches of manganese, on a polychrome background with an iridescent appearance.

We have the largest collection of Lebrillos in Spain.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
