Samson Porcelain Covered Vase with Birds France Late 19th Century Hand Painted 11.4"

€950

A finely crafted late 19th century porcelain covered vase produced by the renowned Samson manufactory in Paris.

The piece is richly decorated with vibrant hand-painted exotic birds set within lush naturalistic landscapes. The composition is executed in a refined polychrome palette, enhanced by delicate gilding throughout the body and base.

The elegant baluster form is complemented by intricately pierced (reticulated) elements, filled with soft blue enamel accents, adding both depth and lightness to the design. The domed lid is surmounted by a sculptural finial in the form of fruit, a charming detail typical of high-quality decorative porcelain of the period.

Samson pieces are highly regarded for their craftsmanship and their homage to 18th century European porcelain traditions, particularly Meissen, making them both decorative and collectible.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
