Royal Vienna Style, Putti Allegory with Raised Gold & Cobalt Border

€490

This elegant 19th-century porcelain plate exemplifies the refined artistry of the Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Vienna (k.k. Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur), known in the collecting world as Royal Vienna. It features a mythological scene of three putti – symbolizing an allegory of the harvest – finely hand-painted in soft pastel tones. They rest on sheaves of wheat beneath a serene sky, rendered in exceptional detail.

The central medallion is framed by lavish gilded bands and surrounded by a cobalt blue border, richly adorned with neoclassical and pastoral motifs in hand-applied raised gold. The composition, technique, and luxurious finish all point to the influence of the late Rococo Revival and Neoclassical Vienna school of porcelain art.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
