Mid-20th Century Spanish Lebrillo with Green Cuerda-Seca Decoratio

€650

A large mid-20th century Spanish lebrillo — a traditional deep ceramic bowl from Andalusia — featuring hand-painted green manganese decoration (verde cobre) on a white tin-glazed surface. The central motif is a stylized pomegranate or floral burst surrounded by concentric wave-like lines, a design typical of the Granada and Alpujarra region.

The piece is hand-thrown and glazed in the traditional manner, with an unglazed terracotta base and visible throwing rings on the underside. This type of vessel was historically used for preparing or serving food, but today is often used as a striking wall-hanging or rustic interior accent.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
