18th Century Dutch Engraved Glass Decanter with Birds & Grapes, Holland, 9in

€880

Exceptional 18th-century Dutch glass decanter, hand-blown and richly decorated with traditional wheel-engraved motifs of birds and grape clusters.

The globular body is enhanced with applied vertical glass ribs and fitted with two elegant loop handles at the neck, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of Dutch glassmakers of the period.

The engraved decoration symbolizing abundance and viticulture is executed in a soft matte finish, contrasting beautifully with the clear glass body. The form, technique, and ornamentation are consistent with high-quality Dutch decorative glass of the 18th century.

A rare and highly decorative example suitable for serious collectors of early European glass or refined interior display.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
