This original ceramic tile is an authentic example of 18th-century Catalan decorative art. The ornamental design, featuring elegant ochre-yellow and cobalt-blue scrolls along with a stylized vegetal motif, is rendered in a style typical of the Catalan Baroque period.

The tile belongs to the rajola de mostra type, traditionally used in interior decoration of well-to-do townhouses and artisan homes. Such tiles were commonly installed on fireplace panels, stair risers, niches, or feature walls.
