17th Century Dutch Delft Blue & White Plate, Hand Painted Chinoiserie, 23 cm

€590

Rare antique Dutch Delftware plate dating to the late 17th – early 18th century.

Hand-painted in cobalt blue on a white tin-glazed earthenware body, this plate features a classic chinoiserie scene with a seated figure in a garden setting, framed by stylized floral motifs and decorative borders.

The uneven form and expressive brushwork are typical of early Delft production and confirm its hand-made origin. The glaze shows natural craquelure and age-related wear, with small rim chips consistent with a piece over 300 years old.

No restoration. Structurally stable. A highly collectible example of early Dutch Delftware.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
