c.1890–1910 French Sèvres Style Hand Painted Cobalt Porcelain Vase, 9.4in

€550

Elegant French porcelain vase in the Sèvres style, dating from the Belle Époque period, circa 1890–1910.

The piece is executed in deep cobalt blue glaze with rich hand-applied gilding and a finely painted romantic pastoral scene framed by Rococo cartouches.

The central scene depicts a classical gallant couple in an 18th-century pastoral setting, painted by hand and signed by the decorator “Gilles.” The vase stands on an ornate gilt bronze-mounted base and is decorated with swirling gilt ribbons and floral motifs typical of late 19th-century French luxury porcelain.

Originally produced as a covered urn or pot-pourri, the lid is no longer present, allowing it to be displayed today as an elegant decorative vase.

Professional packaging.

Chosen for today, grounded in history.

A well-placed antique does more than decorate a room - it gives it authorship. Against a contemporary interior, older objects introduce texture, balance and a sense of permanence that cannot be replicated by newly made pieces alone.
This is the principle behind the LÜRON selection. We look for works that carry historical character with ease, and that feel as convincing in a Paris apartment as they do in a more modern architectural setting.
