Notes:

This design is based upon a Japanese Arita original and was developed in the Ferniani factory in Faenza from 1760. A similar plate is illustrated in Wilson, Timothy, 'Italian Maiolica and Europe' (Ashmolean Museum Oxford, 2017), p. 307, pl. 148; There is a plate in the Ashmolean Museum of near identical design, accession number WA2014.4 from the Barrett bequest.

• Dimensions: Plate decorated in the centre with flowering carnations in a fenced garden, the cavetto with four floral-cartouches against a diaper ground, the rim with flower sprays; Dimensions. Diameter: 23.4cm. (9 1/4 in.)
